Football is Argentina’s official national sport and to en extent their religion. The national football team has been very successful, winning the FIFA World Cup twice, the Olympic Gold Medal also twice and the Copa Americas fourteen times. The most famous player was Diego Maradona who brought the FIFA World Cup to Argentina in 1986 and took Argentina to the final in 1990.
